Hi everyone, the school holidays are just around the corner and it can be hard keeping the kids or grandkids busy for a day. What better way to kill the time and have fun doing it than a Train Ride!?
We will be running these School Holidays 10am-3pm weather permitting on Wednesday the 28th September, Sunday 2nd October, Wednesday 5th October and Sunday 9th October. Bring the whole family down for a ride around the park, a picnic, and a swing on the playground! $2 per ride, with concession tickets available. Hope to see you there!
Hi all, just an update on some recent events down at the track, our hard working crew have been volunteering there time with our latest little project. We are installing a new paved area for un-loading passengers before entering the station. This will allow for a better flowing station area and a safer and easier un-loading process. We are planning to be running this Sunday 10am - 3pm although the weather isn't looking so good so do keep an eye on the page. Thanks.
Hi all, curious as to what to do with the kids or grand kids these school holidays? Bring em' down to the Trains for a day, for a ride in the park and a picnic watching the trains!
We will be running on Wednesday the 13th, Sunday the 17th and again on Wednesday the 20th these school holidays, 10am - 3pm weather permitting. $2 a ride and concession tickets are available. Feel free to share this around to your friends and family too! Hope to see you there!
Just a very important note that we are now cutting back running to every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, starting May. We will still be running those days 10am - 3pm weather permitting.
Todays running day was indeed a success. Thank's to everyone who came down today, it was great! A quick note is that we hope to now be posting every weekend if we are running or not, not only on our Facebook Page but here aswell from the track, on the day!
Thank you everyone for an amazing Open Weekend! Saturday's running day was close to being cancelled, as it was wet for the day until around 3pm, then, miraculously the weather came right, the night market was full steam ahead and our trains followed suit struggling to keep up with the public demand! We have never been so busy in the history of our club, it was truly amazing! We ran with a consistent crowd until around 8pm.
Sunday brought much better weather, blue skies and sun all around! We had a much more slow but consistent flow of passengers, but yet again another great day was had! A massive thanks has to go to everyone who helped organise not only the Open Weekend but the Night Market which majorly boosted us for the night. Another massive thanks goes to everyone who brought locomotives, helped clip & sell tickets, drive and even helped feed all the staff.
And last but certanitly not least, a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who came along on either day for a ride or even for the Night Market on Saturday night. The park was alive with people of all ages enjoying themselves. Thanks for making a stellar weekend for us all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and cannot wait to do it again! Thanks everyone, have a great week.
It's that time of the year, so the Cambridge Model Engineering Society are going to be hosting there 2015 Open Weekend over the weekend of the 28th - 29th of November! It's going to be a great weekend to bring the family down, get out of the house and enjoy some train rides in the dark!
We will start running at 10am on Saturday the 28th, through to 9pm, meaning we will be having a night run. This will be done with the Twilight Christmas Market in the Leamington Domain, who will be selling all sorts of arts, crafts and more from 4:30pm - 9pm. Then we will run Sunday the 29th 10am - 3pm as usual.
Make sure to mark this date on your calender, it's going to be great! Thanks everyone!
Recently the council has been doing some work to the tunnel, preparing it for it's final job before completion. It has started landscaping the dirt how they want it for not only people to be able to walk over but also the park mowers to mow the grass they plan to plant over it. The Handrails are installed aswell so not long left now! Also we are still running every Sunday 10am - 3pm, weather permitting. So this Sunday if we run, come on down!
Sorry the website hasn't been updated for a while but have some exciting news more many. The Tunnel Handrails have now been installed meaning we are very close to completion! All that's left to do now is for the council to do it's landscaping. Enjoy the photos on it. Also a couple photos from our recent running days that have been going well!
